Workers Assistance Programs

For 10 years ForestWorks has assisted retrenched workers through our Workers Assistace Programs

....

Assisting retrenched forestry workers in Tasmania to get back on their feet

At ForestWorks, we know that timely and comprehensive support for retrenched workers is the key to successful outcomes – not only for the workers themselves, but importantly also for their families and the broader community.

Our Workers Assistance programs have been assisting workers for over 10 years and the latest program has recently been expanded to cover all affected forest and timber workers across Tasmania. We have Worker Assistance Coordinators who have themselves experienced retrenchment from the forest and timber industry and are well placed to offer real, practical support.

Assistance is offered in a range of areas – from resume-writing and visiting local businesses to identify job opportunities, to facilitating access to personal and professional counselling, government services and training places. Our aim is to support workers from this industry to secure another good, safe jobs where their skills and knowledge can assist another local business.

For more information about the Workers Assistance program in Tasmania, please contact Eva Down – ForestWorks Skills and Employment Coordinator edown@forestworks.com.au
