Truss and Frame Qualification Structure

The development of the Truss and Frame Qualification Structure as part of the Forest and Forest Products Industry Training Package (FPI05) is being co-ordinated by Michael Littlechild, ForestWorks Training Package Developer.

Project activities:

  • Identification and examination of existing units/standards and current pathways in the Training Package related to the truss and frame sector, in particular, estimators and detailers.
  • ForestWorks has visited truss and frame workplaces to:
    • clarify job roles and the knowledge and skills required for these positions
    • discuss how the jobs are currently included in the Training Package
    • review existing pathways and improved pathways.
  • Discuss and gain feedback from industry and RTOs via email, face-to-face or via the ForestWorks website on current units/standards and pathways and other sector relevant issues related to the review.
  • Develop qualifications and competency standards.
