The project is aiming to stimulate training demand within currently thin markets. It will assist industry enterprises to encourage participation by their employees in higher qualifications and encourage ongoing commitment between industry and RTOs, commensurate with the Victorian demand-driven system.
Specific objectives are:
Increased take-up of targeted Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications in the Furnishing and Forest Operations.
Demonstrate to existing learners (Cert II and III) within their own environment, a pathway to higher-level qualifications and the accompanying benefits.
Development of an industry-supported cadetship model to stimulate take-up of identified Cert IV and Diploma qualifications.
Promote collaboration between industry enterprises and RTOs.
Enable broader engagement between ITABs and industry enterprises.
Incorporate a focus on sustainability issues, knowledge and skills for climate change. e.g. “Wood is Good”.
Develop supporting promotional material for ongoing use within enterprises and for RTOs.
