This FPP10 Training Package was last reviewed in 2001 and since then there have been significant changes in the industry including:
new technologies and different processes introduced
changes to the way work is organised and structured
new mills or mill components are being planned and/or constructed.
As the industry strives to innovate, increase and maintain its competitiveness new changes result. These changes need to be reflected in the Training Package as they impact on the national skill standards.
In the review process, an endorsed training package is considered, reviewed and modified as applicable. The review seeks to provide a training package that meets the needs of all organisations within the industry; is capable of being implemented in a range of workplaces; and is consistent with current national quality criteria and requirements.
