Advanced Diploma of Forest Industry Sustainability resources

The below resources support the delivery of units of competency in the Forest and Forest Products Training Package.

Resources for the Advanced Diploma of Forest Industry Sustainability

ForestWorks ISC has partnered with the Institute of Foresters of Australia (IFA) to produce a range of learning and assessment resources for the Advanced Diploma of Forest Industry Sustainability.

This project has been overseen by a Project Steering Committee with representatives from enterprises, RTOs and High Education to provide oversight and validation for the development work. Consultation have been undertaken to ensure materials meet the needs of end users and that the content of the materials is accurate.

Foundation skills resources

About the Foundation Skills Training Package

The Foundation Skills Training Package offers units and qualifications to support the development of foundation skills for work. The package includes three preparatory:

  • the Certificate I in Access to vocational pathways
  • the Certificate I in Vocational preparation and pathways, and the
  • Certificate II in Preparation for work and vocational pathways.

Each of these preparatory qualifications can be contextualised for a particular work context, to ensure that learners build the specific foundation skills for a job role. Also, vocational units can be imported into these foundation skills qualifications so that learners begin to build industry skills and knowledge. The units cover a range of foundation skills at various levels, including learning, reading, writing, oral communication, numeracy, and digital literacy. The resources listed below are available to assist trainers with foundation skill development.

Growing Skills Trainer Guide

GrowingSkillsTrainerGuide

ForestWorks ISC has developed 'Growing Skills a Trainer Guide' to assist vocational trainers to address foundation skills in the forest, wood, paper and timber products industry. The guide includes background information about foundation skills followed by lots of case studies about how trainers have dealt with developing foundation skills for work. Also included are sample learning activities that could be contextualised to suit the context in which you work.

Australian Core Skills Framework - qualification mapping summaries

The Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) provides a benchmark which defines levels of language, literacy and numeracy for the vocational education and training (VET) sector. ForestWorks ISC has mapped these ACSF benchmarks for language, literacy and numeracy to qualifications and units of competency.

Click here to see qualification and unit summaries that have been developed for the FPP10 Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Industry Training Package and FPI11 Forest and Forest Products Training Package.
