In the past, Industry Skill Scans provided industry with a research summary of the developments and direction impacting on skills training and workforce demands in the forest, wood, paper and timber products industry. The have been used in the past to identify the skills standards and qualifications to be considered for future development.

This information is  now documented by Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) in Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedules of Work, under the new model for training package development. IRCs are made up of experts in our industry and are the key industry advisory bodies to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC).  ForestWorks supports the IRCs for the forest, wood, paper and timber products industry via contractual arrangements with Skills Impact.

Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedules of Work are reviewed annually and are collated into an AISC National Schedule by the government who then decides which training package projects to fund each year.
