Industry wide planning to improve foundation skills

15 August 2012, 2:16pm

With funding from the Federal Government's Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) program, ForestWorks has recently launched a project to develop a three-year strategic plan to further support language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills in our industry.

...

A particular focus will be the relationship between LLN skills and occupational health and safety. Over the coming months ForestWorks will liaise with stakeholders via our network of skills committees and working groups.

ForestWorks' skills committees are critical to how our industry shares its knowledge about skills and workforce development.

The advice garnered at these committee meetings forms the backbone of the messages ForestWorks takes to Government for the development of our industry's workforce.

In recent weeks, we have held committee meetings in Sydney, Launceston, Adelaide and Brisbane, and we'd like to invite you to a
breakfast meeting for industry in Perth later this month.
