Qualifications, a stepping stone to a new career for timber workers

Former workers from Gunns' Lindsay Street and Western Junction sawmills have started a new chapter of their working lives, graduating with nationally recognised qualifications at an awards ceremony in Launceston.

Graduates were presented with their certificates by Dick Adams, Federal Member for Lyons, and the Mayor of Launceston Mr Albert Van Vetten in front of a packed house of family and friends.
With funding from the Federal Government, ForestWorks has assisted retrenched workers across Tasmania have their skills recognised to a national standard.
