A report of a rare increase in skilled job vacancies - 27 August 2009 Skilled job vacancies rose 1 per cent in August compared to the previous month, the first monthly increase since November 2007, data shows. The largest monthly rise was recorded in wood trades, up 7.7 per cent.

Fire suppression and protection of forests in Tasmania given boost - 24 August 2009 Fire protection of forests in Tasmania were given a huge boost recently as ForestWorks and the Tasmanian Forestry industry ratified a range of fire licensing training and delivery tools. Debbie Tickner, Licensing Standards Officer from ForestWorks Tasmania said that the range of fire prevention and suppression training tools were developed to help mitigate fire disasters in the region.

ForestWorks Tasmania promotes industry at popular AGFEST event - 7 July 2009 AGFEST is an annual festival held in Carrick, Tasmania and features agricultural and industrial demonstrations, working sheep dog trials, helicopter rides, chainsaw carving and new product releases. It is the pinnacle agricultural event in Tasmania and has been in operation for over 25 years. how carbon and other greenhouse gasses and how a reduction of the production of these gasses, or an increase in storage of these gasses is vital to managing climate change.
