Planning for a National 2 day Careers Forum

ForestWorks’ CEO, Michael Hartman, and Project Officer, Matt Ryan, attended a weekend meeting in Mt Gambier to discuss a Careers Forum as part of Austimber 2008 (www.austimber2008.com.au).

ForestWorks is involved with Timber Communities Australia (TCA), the Australian Forest Contractors Association (AFCA) and The Beacon Foundation (http://www.beaconfoundation.net/) for this event.  This Forum differs from traditional careers forums, targeting careers advisors in schools across Australia rather than young people.  It is envisaged that approximately 150 careers advisors will attend the two-day Forum, learning from a range of Industry people about careers in the Forest, Wood, Paper & Timber Products Industry and participating in industry visits and tours.
