Training Packages bring national consistency to training and assessment in an industry.
This means that:
the training that Registered Training Organisations deliver is more consistent and can be based on competency standards that reflect industry practice
assessment against a national unit of competence is evidence that a worker has been assessed against the national standard set by industry
qualifications are accessible, consistent, nationally recognised and portable because they have the same meaning in all States and Territories
Who Develops Training Packages?
Training Packages are developed and maintained by Industry Skills Councils. Not only do Skills Councils manage and review training packages, they also provide advice to government regarding the skill development needs of the industries they represent.
ForestWorks represents the interests of the Forest and Forest Products Industry, including the Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Industry. ForestWorks works with state-based industry Advisory Bodies to advise on the content and operation of these Training Packages.
