ForestWorks successfully requests Government training places

ForestWorks successfully requested on behalf of industry a funding allocation within the recently announced Structural Adjustment Places, from the Productivity Places Program. The 300 allocated positions for training will allow workers to pursue multiple career pathways or expand on the timber industry knowledge they currently have. Learn more!

 

ForestWorks supports RTOs with eLearning tenders

ForestWorks provided letters of support for training organisations in the forest, wood, paper and timber products industry submitting tenders to develop eLearning resources for industry specific competencies in the Forest and Forest Products Training Package (FPI05). Learn more!

 

Chainsaw Operator’s Manual – Update

Part 1 of the Chainsaw Operator’s Manual 7th edition, covering chainsaw safety, maintenance and crosscutting techniques, is now in final draft form (which you can view here). Feedback is invited from interested parties and will be accepted up to 3 April 2009. Part 1 of the Chainsaw Operator’s Manual will be available for purchase from July 2009 onwards from the ForestWorks website. 

 

Learner guides available for purchase

The list of over 200 FPI05 Learner Guides are now available for purchase from ForestWorks online. For more information or to download an order form please click here.

 

 

Training.gov.au

 

The workshop held in Melbourne on 13 March 2009 showed that good progress is being made on the refinement of the Training Package data management tool that is planned to replace NTIS on 29 September 2009. To keep up with the progress go to to Training.gov.au.

 

Training projects

If you are looking at improving your employees’ language and literacy skills so they can better participate in employment and training activities, you may be eligible to apply for WELL funding for training projects. Applications are invited from eligible enterprises and organisations. Learn More!

Queensland Food and Forestry ITAB / FORESTWORKS

The Management Committee of QFFITAB and the Board of ForestWorks announced that the operations and functions of QFFITAB are now managed by the newly established Queensland branch of ForestWorks. Learn More!
